Combine the Shapes in the NYB Collections in NEW Blocks
The shapes in three New York Beauty Shape Collections can be combined to make some spectacular quilts. We have shown you a few symmetrical layouts in previous blog messages.
Even if you don’t use Electric Quilt, you will love playing with New York Beauty blocks.
The Electric Quilt project file (free download, below) includes the 12 New York Beauty blocks above.
The quilt layout below uses the same 12 NYB blocks but “on point” with plain squares. I think they look like flowers.
New York Beauty On-Point Setting
Setting 6-inch blocks on point is easy with the Inklingo 6-inch On-Point Shape Collection. There is straight grain in all the right places with no math or measuring! Print the triangles for the edges on the fabric with Inklingo to get results that will make you proud.
Mix and Match Shapes for “New New Yorks”
Since Inklingo makes the preparation and sewing so easy, you can be more adventurous in designing the blocks.
In some blocks, the alternate corner and quarter circle from NYB 03 are used to create variations of NYB 01 and NYB 02.
