Description

I think of this as my Snack Quilt because the printed Inklingo shapes were handy to keep me from nibbling late in the afternoon. This variation of GFG is very portable because it breaks down into bite-size pieces that you can stitch anywhere.

The pattern includes everything you need to know to start a simple, relaxing project whether you are trying not to snack, or not. You will also need the shape collection with the shapes to print to use this pattern.

System Requirements – Windows or Mac with Adobe Reader (not a phone or tablet) and any ordinary color Inkjet printer or all-in-one.

This pattern uses the 1.5-inch Hexagons 60° and the related shapes in that shape collection. (The shapes are also available on the Inklingo # 3 CD, 2007, sold out.)

The directions are for a lap quilt approximately 48 x 68 inches, but the tips and technique apply to any size quilt.

Use Scraps for Your Snack Quilt

The Snack Quilt pattern is suitable for scraps and nickels, hand piecing, machine piecing, or a combination of both (hybrid piecing).

The flower centers are scrappy. I was able to print four 1.5-inch hexagons at a time on scraps about 6.75 x 8 inches.

I wanted to keep it simple for my snack time, so I just used one fabric for all the hexagon flowers. The fabric had a big design, so the effect was to make the flowers look scrappy. I was able to print eight 1.5-inch hexagons at a time on scraps about 7.75 x 13 inches.
