Welcome back, detectives!
Clue # 5 for the Inklingo mystery quilt is ready for you!
This time your assignment is to gather intelligence and sew curved seams.
Monkey brought his magnifying glass but there is nothing clandestine about Inklingo. If Sherlock Holmes was on the case, he would find what he needed to know online. We are taking the mystery out of Inklingo with the COTSG quilt.

The Case of the Secret Garden Clue # 5
Free PDF (5 pages, 1.1 MB)
Note: The page numbering starts at 30, because Clue # 4 ended with page 29.
As usual, green text in the PDF is clickable, so you may prefer to view the PDF on your computer instead of printing.
The mystery quilt is perfect for Inklingo beginners, but not designed for beginning quilters. (The blocks are only 6 inches with small pieces and curves.)
Sew curves by hand or by machine with shapes printed on the fabric with Inklingo.
It doesn’t look as if these shapes fit together, but they do—perfectly.
The seam allowances create an optical illusion. The seam lines are exactly the same length.
You will love the matching marks!
This week is satisfying because you will see your first NY Wheel blocks.
This is a mystery quilt but there is not any suspense about whether your blocks will fit together.
In the fabulous new Sherlock mysteries with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, Dr Watson records their adventures on his blog. I hope you will write about the Case of the Secret Garden on your blog too. Let us know so we can link up, okay?
There is a COTSG badge you can use (right sidebar).
We want to see your blocks!
The Inklingo Yahoo Group is a great place to see the progress of other detectives and you can share your photos too. It helps to be an eyewitness to everyone’s fabric choices (brilliant) and many Inklingoists have shared tips and leads to their blogs.

If you are careful, you should have enough of the first yellow.
If you look at Clue # 5, page 32, you can see how to use your fabric most efficiently. Remember that you can cut the fabric smaller than the FP. If you can print what is shown page 32, you might not even need all of the fabric allowed in the pink area. There is a little more needed there, but I added a little bit extra for a mistake or a jam.
If you prefer, you could wait until the end, but I think you will be okay. Hugs, Linda & Monkey
Linda or Monkey,
I have the hp that does not do custom shapes. I have 2 yards of light yellow for the light. I bought another yellow (1 yard) thinking I am not going to get all the shapes out of the 2 yards. Should I wait for a few more clues or do you think it would be ok to print half of what is needed on each yellow?
Oh dear! Is that banana Monkey is investigating the murder weapon?
Maybe it is a good idea if we all brushed up on our ‘Self-Defence Against Fresh Fruit’. 😉

(The instruction for dealing with an attacker with a banana starts at about 1.30 minutes)
