Inklingo Castle Wall Quilt in Electric Quilt

Inklingo Castle Wall Quilt

I could play with Inklingo Castle Wall settings all day long!

This setting uses all three sizes. You can play with this layout too if you have Electric Quilt software!

Find colors that suit your castle’s decor with Electric Quilt.

Please note: I used the version of Castle Wall in the EQ block library. The proportions of the shapes are slightly different from Inklingo Castle Wall blocks (rectangles instead of squares, trapezoids).

Even so, the Castle Wall block in EQ is great for planning color placement and counting the shapes. Then you can rely on Inklingo to show you accurate yardage requirements to record on Monkey’s Cheat Sheet.

Inklingo Castle Wall Quilt - 3 sizes

Any setting that uses 3 sizes is fit for a castle, don’t you think?

Inklingo makes it so fast and simple to prepare the shapes and sew the blocks that we can spend more time deciding on two kinds of settings—the setting for the blocks and the setting for the sewing!

Amberley Castle Hotel

Wouldn’t it be fun to sew a few Castle Wall blocks in a real castle?

Not in the dungeons, of course, but in a pretty, romantic setting with an interesting history going back to the Doomsday Book.

Monkey recommends printing all of the shapes on fabric before you leave home. Castles might not have Inkjet printers.

Amberley Castle Hotel

This guest room in the Amberley Castle Hotel in England even has a window seat!

Do you think the light would be good for hand piecing?

Amberley Castle Hotel Treehouse

If not, there are fabulous windows in the Amberley Castle Hotel Treehouse to let in light and fresh air.

Ahhh. Relax with a needle and thread while listening to birdsong.

CASTLE CONSTRUCTION

There are endless ways to attack a castle. Cathi at Quilt Obsession has a Castle Wall tutorial on her blog today showing a sewing sequence she uses to sew Castle Wall. I’ll be showing my favorite approach on the blog soon too.

Cathi told Monkey: The Castle Wall collections rock!  There is nothing more fun than playing with fabric on a cloudy grey day in early February. The 4.5″ size is perfect for little scraps — and the fussy cutting just makes it so much more fun!!

I hope you will join us on our journey to the castle on Facebook too.

25 Signs YOU are an Inklingo Quilter

  1. Hi Toni, I would be happy to help you prepare for your guild presentation. There are demo notes and handouts under the Support & Goodies tab on the website.
    http://www.inklingo.com/section/inklingo-demo-notes/87
The good news is that you do not need to lug a computer to the presentation. Almost every quilter has printed labels or photos on fabric or knows someone who has, so they don’t need to see fabric actually run through the printer. Your presentation can be about quilting, not computers.
That should get you started, but please email me if you have questions. Hugs, Linda & Monkey

  2. Lovely photos and stories… I too hope to stay in a castle. And make the lovely castle designs… so many ways to gain perfection wil Inklingo. I’m doing the programs for a quilt guild of 140 in 2015.. any suggestions on how to best share the Inklingo.com business with them? Do you have a video or power point program prepared? I realize you aren’t traveling to do presentations.

Would like to expose them to this.. and demo with a printer how to make their own Inklingo quilt project… together working on a block for our activity…

  3. Ooh, thank you — having the EQ file is such a lovely bonus!

Stitching a castle wall block inside a castle would be a wonderful treat. Which makes me wonder just how many quilters are there who live in castles. Have you ever seen a reference to any of the members of the royal families in Europe quilting?
