Bonnie Hunter’s Celtic Solstice Mystery – Inklingo Clue 05

Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice Mystery   WELCOME BACK, DETECTIVES!

Inklingo Birds in the Air Quilt

We’re making Birds in the Air!

I am very excited about this clue. I think it is the best one yet!

I can hardly wait to show you how easy it is to sew 10 triangles with Inklingo—two blocks at a time—without cutting or sewing any triangles at all!

Sew 100 or 244 Birds in the Air for Clue # 5—and do it 2 at a time!

Bonnie’s Clue # 5 is on the Quiltville Quips & Snips blog.

Inklingo Birds in the Air one-page guide

As usual, Clue # 5 includes a one-page guide to keep you organized at the sewing machine.

Inklingo Birds in the Air Quilt

This method of making Birds in the Air is faster and more accurate than sewing the triangles individually. Sew the stretchy bias before it is cut!

Inklingo Birds in the Air Quilt

Sew an accurate scant 0.25-inch seam allowance. The lines printed on the fabric with Inklingo make it easy.

There is minimal printing if you rotary cut and machine piece.

Remember how we told you to save 100 Sawtooth Squares from Clue # 3? We are using them now!

Since I had those Sawtooth Squares, I only printed 7 sheets of the neutral (Vellum) to make 100 Birds in the Air for this clue.

Inklingo Birds in the Air - two quilt blocks at a time

This makes two blocks at a time. It’s like magic! The one-page guide takes you gently through the steps.

  1. Psst, Monkey. If you have power, please, please–post some pix of all of the Celtic Solstice clues you have made in your fabric choices. (If you have already teased us with your choices, I apologize. My computer decided about 12/15 it needed a two week trip to the “computer spa” and I have been in i’net withdrawal for the same amount of time.) Thank you.
