Recipes for Pie and Tarts

I knew you would be intrigued by the pie yesterday!

Russ’s recipe for pastry with cheddar cheese is always a hit. He has the magic touch for flaky pastry. He uses this pastry for apple pie, savory tarts (such as tiny quiche appetizers), and mincemeat tarts.

Ingredients

200 scraps of fabric, 3.75 x 12.25 (after washing)
Russ’s Pastry with Cheddar Cheese
Apple Pie Filling or similar

You can print 4 pie shapes and 4 tart shapes with one of the two Inklingo Pie & Tarts Combo Layouts while your pie is in the oven.

We have pies and tarts on today’s menu!

Sue Daley of Busy Fingers Patchwork makes pies with English Paper Piecing. (Pattern for EPP)

Cathi makes pies with a running stitch by hand. (See all her Inklingo projects on the Quilt Obsession blog)

I make pies and tarts by machine, and my best tips for chain piecing, sewing curves, and pressing are hot off the press. (Tips PDF) This PDF is also available from the website (scroll to the bottom of the Pies & Tarts page).

The Inklingo Pies & Tarts Shape Collection, published in cooperation with Sue Daley of Busy Fingers Patchwork, is my kind of baking!

What’s for dinner, Russ?
