Traditionally, the blades are pieced into a plate and then sewn onto a background by appliqué.
Inklingo makes new, faster, more accurate methods possible.
Dresden Plate Appliqué
Inklingo makes the preparation of appliqué patches faster, easier, with perfect positioning on the background.
Dresden Plate Quilt by Hand
Everything you need to know is included in the Dresden Plate Design Book.
Dresden Plate Quilt by Machine
If you prefer, you can sew all of the plates by machine with no appliqué required!
Dresden Plate Quilt Hybrid
Get a fast start by stitching some shapes by machine, and then sew the rest by hand, sewing anywhere, anytime. A combination of hand and machine piecing is my favorite, as described in the design book.
Use the website’s Search Feature at the top of every page to find more info about Dresden Plate designs.

2. 15 Blades!!
Your Dresden Plate can have 8, 12, 16, or 24 blades!

1. A Choice of Methods
There is an Inklingo shape collection for you whether you prefer appliqué or
piecing, machine, or hand.
If you piece the blades, you can appliqué them to a background (printed or
unprinted) or piece them into backgrounds printed with the perfect curves and matching marks. Think about it—no worries about centering the plate!! Wow!
You can also mix and match, combining foundation piecing and appliqué. For example, if you like a blade in Basic Pieced, you can appliqué the plate to an unprinted background instead of piecing. The options are endless.
