Do you know how to design in Electric Quilt with 6 inch blocks?
If you do (hints), you know enough to enter an Inklingo quilt in the Love the Lines Contest!
It’s not rocket science, but if you are a quilter who happens to be a rocket scientist or a pattern designer, you are welcome too.
Using 6 inch blocks is a very simple approach if you are pressed for time. Simple or elaborate, whatever size, whatever Inklingo-able shapes, everyone can enter and win big prizes!
No purchase necessary.
Just in time for Valentines! See Jillian’s Dakota Essence blog for this 6 inch block design.
When Jillian posted her instructions for this Inklingo heart on her blog, it reminded me that I had more 6 inch blocks to add to the website. I added the second page this week.
If you click here (or go to Shop > 6 inch blocks), you will see a few of the many, many six inch blocks you can make with existing Inklingo shapes.
These are some of the ones I just added:
There are other color variations on the website.
There are also little diagrams identifying the sizes and shapes required for 6 inch blocks. Of course many of these designs can be made with Inklingo in other sizes too.
They look completely different in rows!
Interlaced (uses Log Cabin 0.75 inch)
Kansas Star (uses Storm At Sea 6 inch)
For some of these, there are even free project files in earlier blog messages. (Look in the right side bar “Topics” or search.) There are also tips for designing with Inklingo sizes, here and in other messages.

You can use these blocks or design something completely different—other shapes, other block sizes, etc.
