A Beauty of a Beauty!
Within a few hours of receiving the new New York Beauty shape collection, Cathi Godwin had eight (8) NYB blocks printed with Inklingo, and had one sewn, pressed, photographed (front and back!) and posted on her Quilt Obsession blog. Wow! (Be sure to click on Cathi’s photos for a larger view.)
I wonder if Mr. QO got any dinner last night. I hope Inklingo did not ruin Baxter’s birthday party!
I love seeing what quilters do with each new collection. In this case, Combo # 1 gave Cathi a very fast start.
MORE NYB DESIGNS
Yesterday, I mentioned that the new NYB can be used with the existing Sunflower Quilt Shape Collections from Inklingo.
This is a good example. It uses the new New York Beauty with 6 inch Sunflower quilt blocks. I adapted one of the many worksheets in the Sunflower Quilt Design Book ($10 or free).
NYB makes a very impressive border. In this case, the blocks are “on-point.”
This NYB also uses the triangles in the On-Point Shape Collection.
You can Design with Electric Quilt
I will be back tomorrow with more NYB designs and an Electric Quilt project file to download and use with EQ5, EQ6, and EQ7.
In the meantime, there is already a Sunflower EQ project file available. (It was added to the blog last May. There is lots of good stuff in the archives!)
I just took this photo this morning. It is a gorgeous day here, already about 74 F (23 C)—amazing for mid-April and the furniture has been on the front porch for weeks already.
I intend to do a little al fresco stitching this afternoon. I’ll sew some Sunflower triangles and diamonds together and assemble the rest of the block by machine. The curves are gentle and easy by machine.
Hmmmm. Maybe I should show you my brand new portable sewing kit this week too. Just for fun.
Thank you for visiting. See you tomorrow!

This set is fantastic! so many possibilities ~ I have my fabric in the wash right now and hope to print tonight! And I can’t wait to see your new portable sewing kit (I am such a sucker for stuff like that)
Yep the NY Beauty has so many possibilities starting with the fabric selections and then settings too.
Thanks for your hard work with this collection and the ones to come in the future.
Bye the way my Grandson wonders what Monkey has been doing these days LOL
LOVE the Border quilt, so many possibilities!
Thanks again

I love those “on Point” blocks, this will be one of my all time favorite sets! Now I just have to get with it and make something!
And I am anxious to see that new sewing kit that you mentioned! 🙂
That border idea is stunning!! I can’t wait to start playing with the EQ file myself! 🙂
The options with this collection are awesome! Making one block really made the ideas flow. Mr. Q.O. may not get dinner for days at this rate! LOL
