The new Inklingo Castle Wall shape collections create amazing design possibilities.
I love the “on-point” look of this setting . . .
. . . even though it is just alternating blocks in horizontal rows.
This setting uses Castle Wall 4.5 inch with bonus rectangle shape and LeMoyne Stars using the FREE Diamond Triangle Square shape collection.
I’ll be showing more settings for Castle Wall all through 2014.
Some of my Castle Wall quilt designs use one size, some use two sizes, and some use three sizes!
That’s the beauty of having 4.5, 6 and 9 inch blocks. They all work together, just the way they do for Drunkard’s Path and Drunkard‘s Trail.
Inklingo makes it so easy to prepare the shapes and sew the blocks that we can be more adventurous with design!

Cathi made her first Castle Wall block yesterday and posted it on her blog. Then she wrote a 5 star review for inklingo.com!
Oh, my goodness. You’ve made each one of these collections a must-have with the different bonus shapes! This one, in particular, really has my imagination captured. I need to make a 4.5″ one. Inklingo is amazing!
Thank you, Cathi!
We would love it if you would leave a review too!

Hi Linda,
This is a block I have wanted to do for eons, saw it when I first started patchwork over 30 years ago, and it was coupled with another block called I think Castle Keep, I have the template for Castle Wall, but not Castle Keep, the two together made a fantastic quilt so maybe another Inklingo set of templates there some time.
Still debating whether to go for the 9 inch 6 inch, templates, 9 inch winning I think, would be quicker!
Cheers from warm and humid Western Australia.
OK, had me fooled for a bit…I thought they were Sawtooth Stars as the alternate! LOL
I think I have eliminated the 4.5 inch block to purchase…now will it be the 6 or 9 inch…dang a hard choice but at least I have a little time to decide.
Wow, Linda. What a beautiful old block. I can see this block done in scrappy fabrics, too!
Ok, so maybe they were just different colors! LOL. Does make them look so different!
This is just fantastic. Love the samples and how they were set differently.
