I Spy with My Little Eye a Well-Loved Quilt

This warms my heart on a cold winter day!

Bert in Michigan made this quilt for a special boy in her life. Word is that he loves his quilt and always keeps it close by.

I love bright colors for children’s quilts and have a large stash. For some years I was in a small group in my quilt guild who made quilts for ill children for a local hospital.  Often times I still purchase more bright fabrics just because.

This quilt is about 40 x 50 inches.

• Fast and accurate because you don’t draw lines on fabric.
• Less fabric is wasted than using 2 inch squares. (If you use 2 inch squares, a small, fiddly triangle is left over. It is an odd size, so most quilters would never use it.)

NOTE I used 1.5 inch HST (Half Square Triangles) in the instructions to match Bonnie’s instructions, but you could use the 1.32 inch HST in the FREE Diamond Triangles Squares shape collection instead. You would need to use the 1.32 inch square as a guide to cut the rectangles.
