WILLYNE HAMMERSTEIN’S FLOWER POWER
ADD-ON FOR 1 INCH DIAMONDS
PDF DOWNLOAD - SHAPES 20.9 MB
Print shapes on fabric with any ordinary Inkjet printer.
This Inklingo PDF includes the 4 shapes for the Flower Power design in Millefiori Quilts 3.
This shape collection is for quilters who also have the 60° Diamond 1 inch shape collection and just need the additional shapes used in Flower Power.
This"add-on" shape collection means that quilters don\\\'t have to buy the same shapes twice.
Flower Power uses these new shapes . . .
. . . with the shapes in the 60° Diamond 1 inch shape collection.
Most quilters hand piece this design, but you can machine piece, if you prefer.
Features of this Shape Collection (PDF)
- shapes to print on fabric
- diagrams showing how much fabric you need
- shapes without seam allowances to print on paper or freezer paper (just in case you want templates)

- an impressive, unusual, intriguing design
Detailed diagrams for the rosettes and assembling the quilt top are in Willyne’s gorgeous Millefiori Quilts 3 book. (The third book is my favorite!)
This Inklingo shape collection does not include instructions.
Sewing pentagons and diamonds into rosettes is similar to sewing hexagons, so when you order this shape collection, you also receive the Hexagon Quilt Design Book
($20 value, PDF download). There are short videos showing how to sew hexagons by hand or by machine on the Main Hexagon Page
Compared to sewing hexagons, there is an added layer of complexity with Flower Power because the rosettes interlock and overlap each other.
This shape collection was requested by quilters who love the design but wanted to make a larger size.
With 1 inch diamonds (instead of 0.75 inch diamonds) the center of quilt without borders is approx 49 x 67 inches instead of 37 x 50 inches. That 0.25 inch difference might be more than you expect!
Love the lines. Quilt more!
HAND PIECING LESSON
If you are learning how to hand piece, Quilted Diamonds 2 is the book I recommend because it includes the two-hour DVD lesson for the price of a book alone. It is a great value.
The DVD is like taking a private lesson with me. Discover the advantages of sewing with a running stitch!
The brilliance of Willyne’s design is in the way she used the shapes to create interlocking rosettes. She teaches hand piecing with a running stitch.
It is NOT necessary to use EPP unless that is the method you prefer.
It is much easier to print the shapes on fabric with Inklingo (TWO methods of fussy cutting) and sew with a running stitch. You can probably start and finish 3 rosettes with Inklingo in the time it would take to make ONE with EPP.
On the other hand, there are 8 Good Ways to Use Inklingo for EPP if that is the method you prefer.
