A few weeks ago, an Inklingo quilter asked me for worksheets for Alabama Beauty, the classic quilt block above (Beyer 309-7).
From the beginning there have been 8 worksheets in the Orange Peel Deluxe shape collection, but there was nothing for the other Orange Peel variations! I just did not think of it in 2011 when this shape collection was first published.
So, I got busy.
You can print Inklingo shapes on fabric to go with any Orange Peel pattern but it is even better when you design your own variations, so there are 14 new worksheets in the Orange Peel Deluxe shape collection now!
HOW TO GET THE NEW WORKSHEETS
If you have this shape collection, you will receive an email notifying you that there is a new version. You can download the new version by logging into your account.
(Whenever you download from your account, you automatically get the newest version. There is no need to order again.)
In addition to the worksheets for Alabama Beauty, there are worksheets for Improved 9-Patch (above). . .
. . . Orange Blossom, and . . .
. . . Eiffel Tower.
I named this new variation Eiffel Tower in 2011 because the shapes in the middle reminded me of the most famous symbol of Paris.
The Orange Peel Deluxe shape collection includes all of the shapes to print on fabric for these variations!
There are straight sets and on-point versions of Orange Peel variations in the 14 new worksheets in the Orange Peel Deluxe shape collection—but not this one!
Even if I had added 50 worksheets, I could not have covered all of the variations that are possible with this wonderful Inklingo shape collection.
MORE DESIGNS? USE EQ7
Since I could not include every possible variation, I collected the blocks in a new, free Electric Quilt Project File, so if you have EQ7, you can play with color and design that way too! Download
The fabric library includes blue, white and red fabrics.
I have been posting Orange Peel variations on Facebook too.
Facebook only shows my photos to about 20% of the quilters who have “liked” the Inklingo Facebook Page, so the best way to stay up to date is to subscribe to the blog (top of right sidebar).
If you are on Facebook, please post photos of your Inklingo and QD blocks on my page and please “like” and “comment” and “share” my photos. When we interact, it makes it more likely that Facebook will show you my next photos too.
Like everyone else, I am shocked and devastated by the barbaric attacks in Paris.
Paris was the birthplace of the Age of Enlightenment, so it is called the City of Light.
I spent a couple of months in France in 1985 and 1986 and I intend to visit Paris again some day.
Je suis Paris.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité.
