When I realized what could happen with the addition of a melon shape, I got excited about Clamshells—and the new Inklingo Clamshell Rose shape collection was born.
Print, rotary cut, and sew!
There is a video showing How to Rotary Cut Curves. It might surprise you.
I think it is natural to see symmetrical designs with these shapes.
This might look like appliqué but it can be entirely hand pieced!
Piecing this design is simpler for many quilters, especially because sewing this design with a running stitch (or by machine) ensures that the petals are all perfectly symmetrical.
Of course , if you prefer appliqué, you can print the shapes with Inklingo and appliqué to a background.

This asymmetrical design would make a fabulous pillow cover, don’t you think? It is 18 x 18 inches because (4 x 4) + 2 = 18.
I’m intrigued by this too.
