Millefiori Quilts Valse Brillante

In the book, the small hexagon is 2 cm (0.787 inches) and the large Pieced Hexagon is 2.92 inches on each side. In this shape collection, the small hexagon is 0.75-inch and the large Pieced hexagon is 3 inches on each side, so it can be used with 300 Pieced Hexagons too. Makes me want to dance.

Many quilters hand piece this design, but you can machine piece the blades first and then add the hexagon with continuous stitching by hand for a hybrid. There are 8 Good Ways to Use Inklingo for EPP if that is the method you prefer.

You can get a faster finish with Inklingo than with traditional methods. There are two methods of fussy cutting with Inklingo and neither uses acrylic templates. (Why I don’t sell acrylic templates.)

Consider machine piecing the spokes and adding the hexagon by hand with some relaxing continuous stitching.

Love the lines. Quilt more!

There are some good, short videos collected under a tab on the page for the Millefiori Quilts 1 book which show how Inklingo makes you want to dance to Valse Brillante.

Valse Brillante Dancing Tips

Willyne’s lovely block is similar to Endless Chain (Beyer 401-1) but it has a hexagon in the center—on a tilt!—instead of a circle. (Endless Chain is illustrated in the Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book.)

You can listen to the same waltz Willyne was listening to in her sewing room!

This collection is brilliant – makes it so easy to make this wonderful quilt! The precision corners mean no thinking about how the block goes together around the centre hexagon! I think it’s a must-have collection for anyone wanting to make this quilt.
