One Popular Shape in Memories of Asia

Please order the 1.75-inch Diamonds 60° shape collection.

Wilyne created this wonderful, complex design with only one triangle shape, so I have not created a shape collection for Memories of Asia. This triangle is included in the 1.75-inch Diamonds 60° shape collection but you can use larger or smaller triangles.

A Choice of Sizes

You might prefer to make this design with larger or smaller shapes. Inklingo 60° Diamond shape collections include triangles. Inklingo makes it easy because the shapes are in “collections” and are named with the finished size. Please see the Index of Shapes for 60° diamonds.

Detailed diagrams for assembling the quilt top are in Willyne’s Millefiori Quilts 1 (the first book).

Fussy Cutting with Inklingo

This design might remind you of One Block Wonder or Stack n Whack™. There are two great methods of fussy cutting with Inklingo. You can use traditional Swiss cheese fussy cutting with two-part freezer paper templates (printed with Inklingo). In this case, Inklingo No Waste Fussy Cutting is a fabulous choice with the right fabric. Print identical sheets of fabric for No Waste Fussy Cutting, similar to Stack n Whack™.

The brilliance of Willyne’s design is in the way she used the shapes to create interlocking designs. She teaches hand piecing with a running stitch. It is NOT necessary to use EPP unless that is the method you prefer.

It is much easier to print the shapes on fabric with Inklingo and sew with a running stitch. On the other hand, there are 8 Good Ways to Use Inklingo for EPP if that is the method you prefer.

Continuous stitching and “circling the intersection” by hand are perfect for this design.

Love the lines. Quilt more!

There are some good, short videos collected under a tab on the page for the Millefiori Quilts 1 book which show how Inklingo makes this design even more fun by hand or by machine or a combination of both.
