Hunter’s Star Quilts Again

It’s been about 24 hours since the new Inklingo Hunter’s Star shape collections were published.

There have been some great comments on orders for the Inklingo Hunter’s Star Design Book (free for a limited time). What a great reaction! Thank you!

Who made the first one?

Cathi at Quilt Obsession has already made her first Hunter’s Star block—no surprise.

Photo used with Cathi’s permission!

Cathi is almost always the first to “do the Inklingo” when there is something new!

Cathi’s colors make me think of bright jelly beans. (Did you ever save the red ones for “lipstick”? That was part of the dressing up routine when I was five.)

I think you will want to visit Cathi’s blog, and click on the images, so you can see the lines printed on her fabric in detail—and today’s Baxtertoon too, of course!

Hunter’s Star is a perfect design for rotary cutting and it is  . . .

easy peasy to machine piece.

I would only hand piece Hunter’s Star if I needed a portable project, but Cathi hand pieces almost everything. (Isn’t it lovely that Inklingo cutting and sewing lines give you that choice?)

  FREE (115 pages)

The design book includes everything you need to know to print, cut, and sew Hunter’s Star.

  • notes about fabric selection
  • design examples that will inspire you
  • tips for using the free EQ project file
  • how to cut without measuring and even “layer to cut” so you don’t print every shape
  • my favorite hand and machine piecing tips
  • unique step-by-step guide to use beside the sewing machine with illustrations
  • pressing diagrams
  • 24 worksheets with variations using 1, 2, or 3 sizes

Who will you tell?

We love it when you tell your friends about Inklingo in person and online.

Don’t you think you should tell everyone about the design book while it is free?

We won’t make you hunt. Here it is  Main Hunter’s Star Page

When you order, please include a comment. I love reading them. It’s that easy to make someone’s day.

What’s next? You tell me!

There are more than 80 requests for shape collections on the list now. Can you help me decide what to do next? I’ll go find some lipstick, okay?

  1. Hi Christine,
Your order did come through and I can see the Hunter’s Star Design Book in your account. It is possible that the email receipt was filtered into your spam or junk folder. Even without the receipt, you can log in at http://www.inklingo.com with the same email address and password you used when you placed the order and download. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Hugs,

  2. Hi Linda: This past week, I think on Wed or Thursday I ordered the Hunters Star free download and design book. I have not had a confirmation e-mail back about it. Did I do something wrong. I am excited to try this block as it has been a long time favourite of mine.

  3. Cathi – of course! I am convinced she has a trained elf that works around the clock printing and cutting and sewing. Either that – or she can get by on 2 hours of sleep 🙂 Cathi – that is going to be an adorable quilt – can’t wait to see a few more blocks together.

Linda my vote for the next collection is Maru Bishamon. You tempted us by including it in the Smart Shopper’s Idea Book. I had never heard of that block – but I fell in love the minute I saw it – no straight lines – love those curves!

  4. Oh, of course Cathi is our super star of Inklingo…so glad to see her pretty cheerful version of Hunter’s star. I am trying to decide which size to order first…I am sure Monkey would say I need them all! LOL
