You may see a security warning
Inklingo Quilt Studio is new. On both Windows and macOS, new software often triggers a security alert, such as “unknown publisher” or “suspicious file.” This happens before an app has established a reputation with the operating system and does not indicate a problem with the software itself.
If you download Inklingo Quilt Studio here, directly from Inklingo, you can safely proceed.
-
Windows: Click More info, then Run anyway (not Run away 😉)
If you don’t see “Run anyway,” try this:
-
-
-
-
-
Right-click the InklingoSetup file
-
Choose Properties
-
Check Unblock (if you see it), click OK
-
Then double-click the file again
-
-
-
-
That should do it!
-
Mac: Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway
This message appears because the Studio is new—not because anything is wrong. It will go away over time as more quilters install it.

Inklingo is even easier now – Meet the Studio!
You no longer need Adobe Reader for Inklingo. Some quilters found Adobe Reader frustrating.
Another main difference you’ll notice is that you no longer need to cut freezer paper to a custom size.
Print your first sheet of fabric in minutes with the new Guided Tour.
The Guided Tour is the best way to start. You may need to experiment with where to position custom-sized fabric on the freezer paper. It is a good idea to print on scrap paper first, then on fabric ironed to freezer paper (letter, legal, or any standard size your printer supports). For example:
-
Portrait: I place the fabric at the left corner of the leading edge (plastic side). The leading edge is the edge that feeds into the printer first. I usually leave a little less than 0.25 inch of freezer paper bare on the leading edge.
-
Landscape: I place the fabric at the right corner of the leading edge (plastic side)
Is this the same for you?
Do you have Suggestions?
You can help shape the future of Inklingo.
I am already talking to the developer about the next version — primarily for iPads and Android tablets — so I expect to be able to incorporate your suggestions.
-
Help & FAQ is never finished. If you have suggestions, please let me know at [email protected].
-
I am still uploading shape collections and design books for the Studio, so a few might be missing from your library. You can still access them the old way.
- Please let me know what you think. Will you feel comfortable recommending the Studio to a friend? All you need to do is show her a piece of fabric (still attached to the freezer paper).
Print – Cut – Sew
The more quilters discover it, the sooner the next version will be possible.
I am very grateful to all the testers. We kept refining and refining — all the way to version 11. Just in case you’re curious, this is the checklist (PDF) they used.
💙 Welcome!
