The Second Inklingo New York Beauty

New York Beauty 02 – NEW today!

There’s another new Inklingo shape collection to tempt you!

When Monkey saw what you were doing with the New York Beauty 01 (below) from Inklingo, he wanted to get another one ready right away.

This delightful block is easier with Inklingo than with any other method.

How? Let me show you!

A Choice of Layouts

The Inklingo PDF has hundreds of pages to print on fabric with all of the different shapes. You just have to find the page you want and print it!

We picked out several fabrics.

We printed them all with Combo 1.

It was so easy, we printed several sheets in a few minutes.

They’re beautiful!

Each sheet is 8.5 x 13.75 and has all the shapes for one New York Beauty 02.

We love combo layouts so much, we designed 7 different ones for this NYB shape collection.

Of course, you can print the shapes separately too.

We cut the shapes apart with a rotary cutter.

There are speed tips for rotary cutting in the Sunflower Quilt Design Book (free with NYB02).

  • how to cut several layers at a time
  • how to rotary cut curves—easy and speedy!

When portability is more important than speed, we cut with scissors. Just cut on the lines! No measuring, no templates. Inklingo lets us cut the way we want to.

We sort the shapes into piles. (Monkey is not really much help with this step.)

See how fine and perfect the lines are? These are fun to sew!

Every shape has stitching lines and matching marks to make the pinning and sewing easy—whether by machine or by hand.

Mix and match for each NYB block.

We’re ready to sew by machine or by hand!

Inklingo quilters inspire us!

We think you will want to check out what a few Inklingo quilters with blogs have made with New York Beauty 01 and the Sunflower shape collections.

  • Carol in Panama – Kaffe Fassett fabrics
  • Saskia in Germany – Bright solids
  • Cathi in Canada – Tiffany Lamp fabrics
  • Karen Dianne in Florida – Reproduction fabrics

These are all great blogs. You will probably want to see the other quilts they have made with Inklingo too.

New York Beauty can be used to create very exciting quilt layouts.

These new blocks can be used with the existing Inklingo Sunflower Shape Collections —or any time you need a 6-inch block.

Coming Next

We’ll be back, and we hope you will be too.
