Silent Garden Coming Soon!

Silent Garden with Inklingo

I am very excited to announce that I will introduce Silent Garden shape collections with a LIVE video next week!

Willyne Hammerstein's Silent Garden

Silent Garden has been whispering to me.

It’s not so silent after all.

Inklingo Stars Fussy Cut

I started this wall hanging many years ago. I love the fussy cut stars (Inklingo No Waste Fussy Cutting) and have been disappointed with the blended look.

Not enough contrast!

It’s been waiting for years for inspiration to grow.

Silent Garden Quilt

Willyne Hammerstein planted the seed of a new idea with her Silent Garden. I can give my fussy cut stars room to shine!

New Inklingo Silent Garden Shape Collections

After Christmas, there will be two new shape collections for Silent Garden, so you can follow the instructions in her gorgeous Millefiori Quilts 3 book.

Ripping stars for Silent Garden

Last night I had a wonderful time ripping . . .

Snowy scene at Inklingo

In the meantime, this is our snowy Silent Garden.

Russ and I are having a very quiet Christmas, so I have lots of time to sew this weekend. This is great timing for a new project.

Silent Garden Stars with Inklingo

I sewed two stars last night and I’ll sew more today, some by hand and some by machine.

Introduction to Inklingo

If you haven’t started printing and sewing with Inklingo yet, and you want to be ready for Silent Garden, this VIDEO explains how it works.

Sewing Silent Garden

I’ll be sharing photos on the Inklingo Facebook page.

If you missed them, the first two live videos are available now too.

I hope it is a very happy holiday for you and your family, especially the children.

See you next week!

  1. Thank you, Chingachgook! It’s “Boxing Day” here, so tomorrow is our Re-entry day in Canada. I’m having trouble remembering which day of the week it is. Happy 2018!

  3. Merry Christmas Linda. I too have many Fussy cut stars completed and was going to join them as you did, but will now wait for the new shapes. I already have the 3 fabrics.

  4. Thank you, Driveway Barb! I’m glad you like this setting. It is a beautiful white Christmas in our part of the world but the roads are all clear, so we have the best of both worlds. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to both of you!

  5. I can’t wait for a new LIVE video! And I absolutely LOVE this setting for fussy cut stars! No white Christmas here in Texas, but at least it’s cooler so it feels a bit more like the season should feel. Merry Christmas to you, Russ and Monkey!

    • Hi Judy, I’m sorry you think it looks hard. It is probably easier than you are imagining. Everything is simpler when the shapes are all exact and have the sewing lines printed. I hope you will watch the next video to see how simple it can be. In the meantime, Merry Christmas to you too!

  7. Merry Christmas, Linda. You live in the most beautiful setting for a wonderful, peaceful, white Christmas.
We are also having a very quiet Christmas. So now I’ll be pulling fabrics so I’m ready as soon as the collections are released! Silent Garden will save two projects I’ve let sit for ages. It’s also making me try to decide if I will take apart the Butterfly Stars as they’re not well served in the setting in which I’ve got them. What fun this will be!

    • Merry Christmas, Cathi! I think we are very lucky to have a few quiet days to think and sew and get a break from normal routines. I am eager to see what you do with these new shapes!

  8. I’ve come to the conclusion that we fold up projects and put them in the UFO pile when “something doesn’t work”. When the time comes that we have the skills to finish those projects, we have an “ah-ha” moment, and things can’t go together quickly enough.

Your “fussy stars” will truly shine in your Silent (Moonlit) Garden. Can’t wait to add to my Inklingo collection.

  10. Linda,
Blessings to you and your husband! My husband and I will also have a quiet Christmas and I’m eagerly awaiting the stitching time!

I have a big pot roast, potatoes and carrots planned for our thankful and joyous Christmas dinner. Nothing better, for us!

    • Thank you very much, Jan! We have exactly the same menu planned for Christmas Eve. Roast beef with roasted potatoes, carrots, onions and parsnips, so we can celebrate together but far apart. I wish you a very happy Christmas with as much time to sew as your heart desires.
