The Case of the Diamond Necklace Mystery Quilt

TAKE THE MYSTERY OUT OF PRINTING ON FABRIC

The Case of the Diamond Necklace (COTDN) uses a small amount of fabric to teach some big concepts and we think you will love the design!

  • Sew by hand or by machine
  • Learn how to fussy cut (2 ways)
  • Choose the layout with correct straight grain
  • Use the Cheat Sheet, so you can adapt non-Inklingo designs
  • Print on tiny scraps and dark fabric
  • Recover from printing mistakes
  • Use freezer paper templates
  • Chain piece by machine or “continuous stitching” by hand
  • Uncover secrets about pressing and trimming
  • “and more”

Fussy Cut Stars for COTDN

FUSSY CUTTING

The Case of the Diamond Necklace design is beautiful with or without fussy cutting and this is a great time to try it.

The instructions for fussy cutting and printing with Inklingo apply to other designs like Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses (POTC), Passacaglia (from Millefiori Quilts) and many other designs, so if you have the curiosity gene, we think you will want to follow along.

Monkey’s has 3 leads for quilty detectives:

  1. Boring stake-outs are not necessary.
If you subscribe to the blog (top of right side-bar), the clues will be delivered to you by email.
No cold pizza in an unmarked car in the dead of night.
Get your beauty sleep. Wear diamonds.
  2. There is a reason detectives usually work in teams.
This is a great time to tell your friends about Inklingo.
You can do your friends a favor by telling them about the COTDN, especially if you know someone who has not tried Inklingo yet.
Have more fun by following the clues together.
  3. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
The mystery uses the 1.75 inch 60° Diamond shape collection.
There is surveillance tape (video) on the Main Diamond Page with at least a dozen red herrings because there are so many ways to use ONE Inklingo diamond shape collection!

  1. Hola Mercedes,

He respondido a usted por correo electrónico en español.
I have answered you by email in Spanish.
¡Buenas noticias! Usted puede hacer el misterio con nosotros.
Good news! You can do the mystery with us.

This is the answer in English:

You can order and download any free PDFs in the normal way but when you decide to buy a PDF, please follow the special instructions on the website for quilters in the EU. Please use the Special Order link, as described on the website.

More good news. Your Inklingo downloads never expire, so you can take as much time as you like to finish your quilts.

You get 200 days is “offline” access (when you are not “online”) at a time. If you open one of the PDFs (shape collections or design books) and it has been longer than 200 days, you will be prompted to enter your email address and password again. That’s all. This is designed to ensure that you know if there is a newer version. Some Inklingo downloads have been updated or expanded and it may happen again.

The 200 days is explained in the Download Instructions,

I think if you read the download instructions it will set your mind at ease.
It is also one of the FAQ under the Support & Goodies tab on the website.

    GETTING STARTED
I always recommend starting with the Diamond Triangle Square shape collection ($20 value) because it includes the first chapter of The Inklingo Handbook (pages H5 – H48) and some great shapes to print on fabric.

The instructions are written for the free shapes because everyone has them, but once you have followed those examples, it works the same way for any other shapes.

If you have any other questions, please ask. The quilters I worry about are the ones who have questions but who don’t contact me.

Thank you very much for writing and for your concern about following the rules to place an order. I hope you have a wonderful week with time to print and sew!

    Hugs,

You don’t have to have a Facebook account to see what I share there.

All you need is a computer (Windows or Mac), Adobe Reader (free), and an Inkjet printer. How cool is that!

The only software that will open Inklingo PDFs is Adobe Reader, which is free. Please follow the Download Instructions. (video)
