Inklingo Star Points in Electric Quilt 02

Inklingo Star Points printed on fabric

When you print the shapes on fabric, you can rotary cut several layers at a time to start sewing sooner and finish sewing faster than with any other method.

As promised, today you can download worksheets for Texas Star variations AND a new EQ project file.

DESIGNS WITH STAR POINTS

Star Points were requested by Inklingo quilters who want to make the blue and white Texas Star variation in the header on Cathi′s Quilt Obsession blog.

TEXAS STAR VARIATIONS

Cathi made her Texas Star Variation in 2006 with shapes on the Inklingo #1 CD. That shape collection sold out years ago. New shape collections are all downloadable now.

Inklingo Texas Star Variation

To make Cathi’s design, you need a small hexagon (and both halves), a large hexagon (and half), and a star point (and half).

Inklingo 3 Sizes

Inklingo gives you a choice of three sizes.

Small

  • Inklingo Shape Collection # 3 (book & CD, requires Windows)
includes 60° Hexagon 0.75 inch, 1.5 inch, and Star Point 0.75⁄1.5 inch and many other shapes (while supplies last)

Medium

Large

Inklingo Pieced Hexagon

If you don’t have the large hexagon, you can use small hexagons to make larger pieced hexagons for a lovely variation.

PDF WORKSHEETS TO DOWNLOAD

The worksheets include a variation using Star Points and 60° Hexagons 1 inch without the 2 inch Hexagons.

The worksheets can be fun to color, but Electric Quilt makes planning a quilt easier and faster.

  1. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to give us these wonderful EQ files. I wouldn’t have known where to start in EQ to draw these complex continuous patterns myself!

  2. I may have signed up twice, but I really must find out what you and Monkey have been up to. Happy Mother’s Day from the US.
