These examples use the new Leaf Sashing 3.18.
Why 3.18?
This was fun. The original idea was to make two sizes of Leaf Sashing that would work with any 4.5 and 6 inch blocks. (Introduction to Leaf Sashing)
With those 2 sizes, I could make flower blocks with many, many Inklingo shapes like LeMoyne Star, Dresden Plate (quarter blocks), New York Beauty, Yin Yang, Sunflower (whole or quarter), Winding Ways, and others.
One morning I woke up with the idea of making a third size that would work with the free Diamonds, Triangles, and Squares. Everyone could make flowers with the new Leaf Sashing.
- 8 of the free diamonds make a perfect 4.5 inch LeMoyne Star. Great!
- 4 of the free diamonds make a lovely flower, but it is 3.18 inches. Yuck!
Enter Leaf Sashing 3.18.
It is perfect for turning the Carolina Lily style flower bud into a very useful, very pretty 4.5 inch block. I love it!

I think you should make a design book out of all these beautiful quilts you are showing. It makes my mind swim with ideas from my stash but when the time comes to make it my poor mind will go blank . I would buy it, and I’m sure others would too! It’s much easier to flip pages in my sewing room than running back and forth from the computer. You are spoiling us all, and I love it!!
