We’re celebrating the 7 year anniversary of the first Inklingo shape collection with Pieced Hexagons and they are gorgeous! Click to play the video.

WEDNESDAY TUTORIALS

In addition to the video, for the next few Wednesdays I will add mini-tutes (tutorials) on the blog for designing and sewing Pieced Hexagons.

You can make this a great portable project for the summer or choose a size to sew by machine.

Timeless Treasures

Timeless Treasures gave me permission to use swatches of their gorgeous fabrics in the illustrations.

We think they look fabulous in the video!

Inklingo Pieced Hexagons

I limited myself to only 8 shapes in 2 sizes and created 300 Pieced Hexagons in 1 video.

3 INCH HEXAGONS

3 inch Pieced Hexagons are 6 inches across from point to point.

If you have Inklingo Shape Collection # 3 you can make all 300 designs in this size. Isn’t that amazing?

MANY OTHER SIZES

We’ll show you how to make them with Inklingo in smaller and larger sizes too.

Inklingo # 3 book & CD   Book and CD  for all 300 designs

Inklingo Shape Collection # 3 (book and CD from 2007) is unbelievable value while supplies last—30 shapes and sizes + the beautiful book-on-paper!—but the CD requires Windows. (System Requirements)

If you don’t have Windows or if you are worried about CDs becoming obsolete some day (and all CDs will eventually, just like floppy disks and VHS tapes), the shapes are also downloadable.

The only size that was missing was the little diamonds, so we added them today.

INTRO PRICE

As usual, the new downloadable 60° Diamonds 0.75 inch are at a very special intro price—but for a few days only!

CAN’T WAIT FOR WEDNESDAY?

These are so much fun to design and sew!

While you are waiting for the first Wednesday Pieced Hexagon Tute, you might want to review a few articles about Pieced Hexagons we added early this year:

There are even more in the archives. (The blog is searchable too.)

There is some info about Pieced Hexagons in the Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book (free PDF to download).  Look for Candied Hexagons and VariaHex.

  1. Happy Anniversary, Linda and Monkey! I can’t believe it’s ONLY been 7 years, because I can’t remember how awful quilting life was without Inklingo. Wait! That was the days of those old, archaic templates, wasn’t it? Egads! I never want to go back to those!

Thanks, Linda, for revolutionizing the quilting world!

  3. Happy Anniversary Linda and Monkey. You have transformed my quilting life. Hexagons are my favorite shapes and inklingo has been transformative to my ability to sew them. Thank you. I recently bought CD #3 and I can’t wait to finish my existing projects to get started on these hexagons. Wishing you many many more happy anniversaries and lots more new inklingo shapes and sizes!

  4. Happy 7th Anniversary, Inklingo! Wow… has it really been 7 years? I can still remember waiting for CD#1 to be released and then waiting for the mail to arrive. But now – wow, hello downloads! I still love my CDs though and will never give them up.
Love your YT vid. Seeing all the pieced hexies flashing on the screen is great fun!
Congratulations and I hope you, Monkey, and Russ have many many more anniversaries!

  5. Happy Anniversary, dear friend. Thank you for helping me grow as a quilter and challenging myself with what used to be the “impossibles”. Here is to many more Inklingo “possibilities” in the future.

  6. Hi Sandy,
You can make a lot of the designs with Inklingo # 1. You have 1 and 2 inch hexagons and 1 inch diamonds and parts (triangles).
You don’t have are the 2 inch 60 degree diamonds and parts (triangles) on the CD. All of the shapes are described on the case of the CD.
Your Pieced Hexagons will have 4 inch sides and be 8 inches across from point to point.
I used 2 sizes in the 300 Pieced Hexagons. The small shapes are half the size of the large ones, so I use 0.5 with 1.0 inch, 0.75 inch with 1.5 inch, 1.0 inch with 2.0 inch, etc.
You have great shapes on that CD.
    Hugs,
    Linda & Monkey

  7. Linda, I have the first cd collection. Would I be able to make most of the 300 hexs, or would I need to buy .5 inch sets or 2 inch sets to make them?
