Inklingo Coupons do NOT apply on this item. I am delighted to offer Diana Boston's beautiful book about all of Lucy Boston's Patchworks. It belongs in the library of every quilter. This book was written by her daughter-in-law with love for Lucy Boston. It includes wonderful stories about the inspiration for her patchworks, her fabric purchases in wartime England, references to the patchworks in her letters, historical background, and her life story. Diana Boston's descriptions of the patchworks are insightful and poetic, and Julia Hedgecoe's photographs are inspirational. This is one of my all-time favorite quilt books even though it does not include patterns.
This is a reprint of the 1995 classic (hard cover). Many of the quilts can be made with Inklingo shapes: The Huckabuck Patchwork - 60° Hexagon with 1 inch sides The Patchwork of the Crosses - 90° Hexagon with 1 inch sides and related shapes Toby Hemming's Cot Cover - 60° Diamond with 1.5 inch sides The Keyboard Patchwork - Octagons and Squares with 0.75 inch sides Kate's Stars - 60° Diamond with 1.5 inch sides Passacaglia Patchwork - 45° Diamonds and Squares with 1.5 inch sides (closest Inklingo size has 1.32 inch sides in the free shape collection for Diamonds/Triangles/Squares) Colin Tilney's Wallhanging - 90° Hexagon with 1 inch sides and related squares The Needlecord Patchwork - Squares with 1.5 inch sides and other shape collections Ron Lewcock's Constellation - 45° Diamonds and Squares with 1.5 inch sides (closest Inklingo sizes has 1.32 inch sides in the free shape collection for Diamonds/Triangles/Squares) Islamic Tiles Patchwork - 90° Hexagon with 1 inch sides and related shapes
LEARN TO HAND PIECE The two-hour hand piecing lesson in Quilted Diamonds 2 is like taking a private lesson from me. I can fit both books in the flat rate Priority envelope to make maximum use of the postage. It makes me sad to think how much time Lucy Boston spent basting instead of sewing. If she had had the benefit of freezer paper templates or Inklingo, she would have been able to complete many more quilts to inspire us today.
