NEW Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book

cover-SSIB

There is a new, expanded edition of the Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book ready for you!

FREE DOWNLOAD
Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book (SSIB)
(It is under the Support and Goodies tab on the website. You are on the blog now.)

The purpose of the SSIB is to help you find what you want on the website or the blog when you see something you like.

The website and blog are two separate things and that can be confusing. There is so much available! The Smart Shopper’s Idea Book (SSIB) is intended to inspire you AND help you find what you want.

CLICKABLE!
For example, since the SSIB is a digital file (PDF), you can click on any green text to go directly to a webpage with video or more information about sizes. (It is clickable in the SSIB, not here, okay? Go download!)

SEARCH
The SSIB is a BIG digital file with 208 pages! Everything is in alphabetical order but as you know, some quilts and blocks have several names. Where to look? Use the wonderful search feature to find what you want.

If you don’t recognize the name “Midnight Fireworks,” try this: Open the SSIB, and search (Ctrl-F or Command-F on a Mac) for midn, and you will find at least 3 references. (Keep hitting Enter until you find them all.) Midn or fire will get you there.

TIP  You don’t even have to type the whole word when you search! You will find several references for common words like hexagon, diamond, star, fussy, etc.

PRINT
As pretty as they are, I do not recommend printing all 208 pages. There is a note about printing on page 2 called “Before You Print.”

I intend to update the SSIB every time a new shape collection is added. It would be a shame to print all 208 pages and then find out that it has grown to 210 next week! Just select a few pages to print for your Inklingo notebook.

I like to save my ink for printing on fabric. Printing just 20 pages of the SSIB might use more ink than you would use printing fabric for a whole quilt with Inklingo!

FACEBOOK
I announced the new edition of the SSIB on Canada Day on Facebook and Yahoo but I waited until the 4th of July to announce it here. (Are you missing out on the latest news?)

After a few days of successful testing, you have a choice of the ZIP or the PDF. They are identical but the zip will probably download faster. If you cannot open a zipped PDF for some reason (???), choose the PDF.

COMING SOON—FIREWORKS!

I have almost finished the new Midnight Fireworks shape collection, thanks to Quiltmania and Willyne Hammerstein. This one is a blast! (Monkey loves puns. Happy 4th of July!)

Fireworks tonight in the USA and on the Inklingo website soon!

Quilted Diamonds 2 Covers

Speaking of new books, Quilted Diamonds 2, book plus hand piecing lesson on DVD is back in print! It is “pre-Inklingo” but it teaches you everything you need to know about sewing with a running stitch—needles, thread, continuous stitching, curves, many seams converging, pressing, and on and on.

The QD2 DVD is like taking a private lesson with me. I am thrilled to be able to offer this beautiful book and DVD again, after all these years. If you are thinking about learning how to hand piece (with or without Inklingo), Quilted Diamonds 2 is for you!

Of all of my books, QD2 is the one I love to hold in my hands and dream over—even more than the SSIB—and it will come in handy for Midnight Fireworks too.

I would love to hear what you think about the new SSIB and Quilted Diamonds 2.

Garden at Inklingo Head Office

FACEBOOK VS THE BLOG—ARE YOU SUBSCRIBED?

I post a photo or two on Facebook every day. It is usually about quilting, but sometimes it is something happening at Inklingo Home Office. I love to share photos of your Inklingo blocks too!

You do NOT have to have a Facebook account to see what I post there if you go directly to
https://www.facebook.com/inklingo

However, Facebook only shows my photos to about 20% of the quilters who have “liked” the Inklingo Facebook Page, so the best way to stay up to date is to subscribe to the blog (top of right sidebar).

If you are on Facebook, please post photos of your Inklingo blocks on my page and please “like” and “comment” and “share” my photos. It makes it more fun for everyone.

We are Canadian but we have lots of friends in the USA so I am celebrating the 4th with Russ and my sister tonight. Happy 4th—and happy weekend of stitching to everyone!

If you want to be the first to see my Midnight Fireworks, please subscribe to the blog!

  1. I look forward to the new collection. Let’s see if I can finish current Inklingo hexies project before you release the new collection. I need to sew a little faster as the next Inklingo project is half printed so I want to start it. Just love Inklingo.

  3. The SSIB is fabulous – along with giving us ideas of what might be coming in the months/years ahead, it also gives us a great reminder of what’s already available, which is so, so much. One could be making quilts forever with Inklingo shapes that are currently available!
I love that you give us sneak peeks of what’s coming. Midnight Fireworks is going to be such fun — and now I’m pulling out fabrics to have ready when the collection is released. Love the fussy-cutting/printing possibilities!
QD2 is the quilting book against which I measure all others and none ever come close – so much incredible detail, so many fantastic photos and the lessons on every page are just awesome. It should be in every quilter’s library!!

  4. The SSIB is wonderful Linda! It’s like my own Inklingo Magazine. I can flip through it, see a design I like, and follow the links to download and make it! So many pretty designs! And I like the video clips too. How do you do it???

Thanks for these awesome fireworks to kick off the 4th of July!
