Bonnie Hunter’s Celtic Solstice Mystery – Clue 01a

Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice Mystery

THANKS TO BONNIE HUNTER Friday was the busiest day ever on the Inklingo website and the blog.

Quiltville Blog

LINK UP MONDAY

Bonnie is doing a “Link Up Monday” on Quiltville Quips & Snips for Celtic Solstice.

If you have a blog, you can Link Up (WordPress, Blogger, Flickr).
She will give the instructions tomorrow.

Bonnie asked me to give all ya’ll a heads up because she wants Inklingo quilters to be represented in the mix, okay?

If you are working on Celtic Solstice this weekend, please take some photos and prepare a note for your blog. It is a great way to share a favorite tip.

If you miss tomorrow’s Link Up, you can do the linky thing on the following Monday, so keep it in mind all week, okay?

You are also welcome to post about using Inklingo in the Quiltville Chat Yahoo Group and on Facebook, just the way other quilters post about using special acrylic rulers and other tools.

If you read Bonnie’s blog today, you know that she is an Inklingo fan.

Do the inklingo and then do the linky thing!

Monkey says you will get lots of hits on your blog if you do the linky and you can encourage quilters who have not tried Inklingo yet.

I recommend subscribing to Bonnie’s Blog and liking her page on Facebook. She posts very frequently and it is always interesting.

Printing Lesson on Glenda's Blog

GLENDA’S LESSON ABOUT CUSTOM PAGE SIZES

Glenda is an experienced teacher and writes very clear instructions. We are thrilled that she is an Inklingoist and shares her expertise on her blog! (Update October 2022, no longer active.)

Inklingo Tech Support is Lonely

TECH SUPPORT IS LONELY

Look at those sad eyes!

There are many quilters ordering and downloading Inklingo for the first time, but only a few quilters have written for help. Monkey needs to feel needed. LOL

We’re here if you need help and I always answer as quickly as possible, okay?

I find “tech support” very satisfying because I can always help. There is always a simple answer.

1. The quilters I worry about are the ones who get confused and don’t write for help. Usually there is just one tiny tidbit of info missing and then it all comes clear.

For example, Adobe Reader (free) is a requirement. Inklingo will not open with Mac Preview or the default PDF viewer that is installed on some Windows 8 computers. (What? You didn’t look at the Download Instructions? LOL)

99.9% of all “problems” are solved with one email.

By the way, one of my favorite replies was “Ooooh! I did not realize the password had to be EXACT.” I truly burst out laughing. Of course, she meant “case sensitive” but it was still my favorite of the day.

Inklingo Links

2. Favorite links!

I try to email each new Inklingoist very quickly after their first order and I include these links.

When all else fails, read the instructions. LOL

 3. “Tech Support” can make you happy!

Jan in Texas ordered her first Inklingo shape collection after Bonnie released the first clue for Celtic Solstice on the Quiltville Quips & Snips blog on Friday. She emailed me Friday night with a few questions.

Saturday morning: Linda thank you so much for the quick response. I got a little sleep and now think you are a genius! I was turning the simple process into something way too complicated. It’s not complicated. It is quite the time saver and super easy, just click print. I am forever more a inklingo fan.

Saturday night: Tonight I have completed clue #1, printed cutting and all sewing. Inklingo is definitely a confidence booster! Thank you again for this fantastic product!

Thank you for your permission to quote you, Jan. I hope it will encourage other quilters to try Inklingo and to write if they have questions.

MONKEY’S RECOMMENDATIONS

  1. Watch the video! (click above)
  2. Review Clue 01.
  3. Email me at linda AT lindafranz DOT com if you have questions.
(The only dumb question is the one you don’t ask.)

Inklingo Celtic Solstice Clue 01 - one page guide   One Page Guide

We have seen that a few quilters are frog stitching their triangles (rip it, rip it). Even if you are not using Inklingo you might want to print this one page guide and keep it beside the machine.

Most quilters who have not printed on fabric with Inklingo imagine that it takes more time than it does, so this series of clues should get you excited about the possibilities, whether it is another Bonnie Quilt or Winding Ways or any of the other quilts in the Inklingo Smart Shopper’s Idea Book.

The Inklingo Handbook

Russ will be mailing orders from the post office in Niagara Falls NY early tomorrow morning.

If you ordered a handbook, remember your receipt includes a “coupon code” for $10 which you can use on any Inklingo order in the next 60 days.

Love the lines. Quilt more!

Are You Subscribed?

If you don’t want to miss anything, you can subscribe to get an email when there is more evidence (top of right sidebar) and you should subscribe to  Bonnie’s Quiltville Quips & Snips blog too!

Let the fun begin!

  1. As you say, Linda, I “love the lines”, especially the sewing lines. I did cut some pieces with the accuquilt die I have, but the sewn units were not as accurately as my Inklingo units. Inklingo is turning me into a better quilter!

  2. Thanks for the print out of how to sew the piece’s together . I really appreciate anything that might help me achieve a precise block. New to mystery quilts and Bonnie has fast become one of my favorite quilters on the web.

  3. Glenda does an amazing job at showing how the custom pages work on her printer…if I knew how to do something like that I would do the same on my blog but alas I am tech challenged in so many ways…I kind of sound like Lady Catherine DeBurgh don’t I when she explained to her guests that “if she had learnt” she would have been the most accomplished pianoforte player in England…LOL Watching P&P again of course the A&E/BBC version…gotta see the wet shirt scene!

  4. Linda is correct when she says, “Usually there is just one tiny tidbit of info missing and then it all comes clear.” When that piece is understood or completed you feel like dancing.
She is also so helpful. I’m not sure of anyone who is so personal and concerned that we are not only happy customers but more so happy quilters! Her attention to detail is amazing and I love the videos that I can replay like having a dear friend sitting with me helping me along.
