NEW Inklingo Key West Beauty Quilts

There are THREE new shape collections today!

Key West Beauty with Inklingo

I’ve fallen in love with this design!

It is called Key West, Key West Beauty, Key West Star and Dakota Star. The earliest reference is to the Ladies Art Company in 1922.

This design looks fabulous with Castle WallInklingo LeMoyne Star and other 8-pointed star designs, so the possibilities are amazing!

Inklingo’s precise lines for stitching and cutting make it easier, faster, and more precise than ever before.

There are at least 8 reasons to love Key West with Inklingo!

1. INKLINGO LESSONS ON THE BLOG

This month I will be blogging several times about Key West. It is an intriguing design and

  • a good intro to Inklingo
  • fun by hand OR by machine or both (hybrid)
  • fabulous for Fussy Cutting (above)
  • great for stripes or scraps
  • there is a choice of 3 sizes!

I will be featuring:

  • EQ project files
  • Monkey’s Cheat Sheets
  • setting ideas
  • A mystery?

One of the many quilts I have designed with these shapes is suitable for a mystery quilt. The Case of the Secret Garden (COTSG) and Celtic Solstice were in 2013. Is it time for another one?

Q. Would you be interested in another mystery? It would be a good introduction to Inklingo for beginners but there would also be helpful tips for experienced Inklingoists.

Q. If you are interested in a mystery, would you be interested in a wall quilt with 4.5 inch blocks? or a larger quilt with 6 or 9 inch blocks?

2. ALL THE USUAL ADVANTAGES OF INKLINGO

Faster preparation, no measuring, no templates, perfect straight grain, efficient use of fabric, exciting designs.

Key West has all the usual advantages you expect from Inklingo.

For example, it is simple to decide how much fabric you need because there are diagrams for every shape. Shop your stash for scraps, or get the latest fabric from your local quilt shop.

You can use a rotary cutter to cut several layers at a time (fast) or use scissors (portable). Just cut on the lines.

3. COMBO LAYOUTS

Monkey insisted on FIVE combos this time!

Combo layouts allow you to print all of the shapes for one fabric at once. Inklingo quilters love them! (You can print the shapes separately too, of course!)

Combos save time and fabric. It is also perfect for mixing and matching scraps from your stash.

Key West Beauty variations

4. ENDLESS VARIATION FOR INSPIRATION

The shapes in Key West are very versatile!

(That’s one of the reasons I am considering a mystery.)

Key West Bonus Kite

5. BONUS SHAPE

The bonus kite makes even more variations possible.

6. CHOICE OF SIZES

One size is enough, but 4.5, 6 and 9 inch blocks can be combined to make some fabulous settings. (See what we did with Drunkard’s Path and Winding Ways!)

Key West is compatible with 8-pointed stars like LeMoyne Star, Judy Martin’s Waltzing Matilda, and Inklingo Star, so you might want to choose a size of Key West that works well with the other shapes you already have. For example, if you have LeMoyne Star 6 inch, you might want to choose Key West 6 inch now.

Key West Beauty Worksheets

7. WORKSHEETS

Each shape collection includes a few worksheets to get you started.

.

Key West 4.5 inch . . Key West 6 inch. . Key West 9 inch

8. SPECIAL INTRO PRICE

$25 is great value, but $20 is even better. How can you resist?

Hurry! The special intro price is for a limited time only!

This low price will be available for at least one week and maybe a bit longer if the idea of a mystery quilt is popular.

If you are new to Inklingo, you might want to buy The Inklingo Handbook first and use the $10 coupon code when you buy Key West!

  1. Hmm I think this sounds like a really tempting idea, although I think I would have to watch enviously from the sidelines for now with too many projects in hand! It looks a really lovely block and layout so goes in my to-do list 🙂

  4. A Key West Mystery would be great winter therapy. Especially if it includes Jimmy Buffet music and Margaritas! Medium or large blocks would be my choice.

  5. I just spent time looking at your first mystery. What a great job! It was well thought out and fun too!

You can probably count me in on the Key West mystery. I’m fine with any size, but would probably prefer the smaller over larger because I stand a better chance of finishing.

My primary reluctance in joining the mystery is my desire to keep working on my Ballet quilt so I can then do Passacaglia and then POTC. So I’m having a priority and time challenge. Stupid day job. Sucks up too much time.

  6. Sounds like a good idea to me! I got the free sample and haven’t done a thing with it yet. This would get me going! I like the idea of a smaller wall hanging. I have too many other quilts already going — but if I hand piece, it will fill unproductive time sitting around, rather than take time away from the other quilting.

  7. Linda I would love to do a wall hanging size. I have been busy doing the POTC quilt and am loving it but would prefer to something much smaller right now.

  8. Beautiful pattern. I would prefer the 4.5 inch block. Thank you for a great fun product. Wil we know the chosen size before the price changes?

  9. Mystery would be fun. I have been buying the 9 inch collections. Have the free collection. Will wait to see what you decide before buying.

  10. I’d love a new Inklingo mystery. I’m stalled right now and need something to be excited about. I like the 4.5 or 6 inch size.

  11. I would love the mystery quilt. Maybe the smaller one, because like everyone else I have too many quilts “in process” that it’s hard to justify, even to myself, starting another. But I haven’t actually used my inklingo yet, and this would be a boost to start. Thank you.

  12. Would love to join in.. I think I will be outvoted, but I would love the larger size quilt, and therefore, something using the larger block..
I plan to purchase the 9″ block now to perhaps use in conjunction with my Castle Wall collection.

  13. I would certainly like the mystery quilt. I certainly do not need another project, but oh well. I would like the smallest size block because you know me. I am trying to get quilting the ones that I have already done but can’t resist another one. Your quilts are so lovely done.

  14. My introduction to Inklingo was Bonny Hunter’s Celtic Solstice (which I’m still working on around other projects). I’d love to do a mystery with you!

  15. This is a beautiful block! Your instructions are perfect for dealing with the sewing sequence. It’s a tricky pattern since the two halves ultimately sewn together are not rectangles, so having the matching marks is really helpful. So many designs from these shapes! Very versitile, and pretty. 🙂
    Well done!

  16. I would love to be part of this Mystery quilt, Key West Beauty Quilt, the larger size I think.
I have been a follower of you Linda for some time, but have yet to use all my Inklingo purchases! I think, besides being a beautiful design, I can register as a beginner to Inklingo and learn and gain confidence in this method.
I would like to purchase the Key West worksheets etc,at 20 dollars, but I live in the UK. Is this done as previously when I purchased the various handbook and worksheets?
What a great start to 2016

  17. One of your mystery quilts? Count me in!! I love the elegance of your designs. I’d prefer the smallest size block, but imagine most would want a larger size and I’d be fine with that too.
