Case of the Stranger in Margaritaville FABRIC

Come on down to Key West!

Ready to sew Key West Beauty?

Listening to Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on YouTube might get you in the mood to choose fabric for the COTSIM mystery!

.

Fabric for Key West Beauty Mystery

Since we’re using Key West Beauty blocks this time, we’re having fun in Margaritaville with fabric! The alcohol is optional. I’ll be drinking cool, sparkling water with a twist of lime, not Margaritas, so you can trust the clues.

Print quilt shapes on fabric

This is a laid-back, island-style mystery to give us a little escape from winter—or summer in the Southern Hemisphere. That means you can sew the Key West blocks anywhere, not just at the beach or on the front porch swing, because the blocks can be sewn by hand or by machine or a little of both.

The COTSIM mystery uses the new Key West Beauty 6 inch shapes and you will detect great clues for using Inklingo —so it’s an easy way to start printing on fabric.

  1. I’m excited! I pulled out 4 options from my stash for each of the colors. Then I got to thinking, where would I hang this in my home. Not really the colors in my house. So, I thought maybe I’d do the Christmas suggestion and hang that just for the holidays. Or maybe I’d mix the colors up quite a bit to match a room in my house. Would you say the gold and pink should be medium tones and that the green and blue should be dark? Does it matter?

Looking forward to the first clue!

  3. Hi Marie, “Case file notes” is just another way of saying “clue.” I am sorry for the confusion. The first official “clue” will be posted at the end of the month. In the meantime, there will be a few tips on the blog for quilters who are new to Inkling.
